Game 1: Loss 0-4

Coopersville Broncos Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 4-0 loss to Sparta on Friday. Sparta took the lead on a single in the second inning.

Sparta got things moving in the second inning. #11 drove in one when he singled.

One bright spot for Coopersville Broncos Varsity was a single by Jason Emelander in the fourth inning.

#18 toed the rubber for Sparta. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on five hits and striking out six.

Sam Serba led things off on the hill for Coopersville Broncos Varsity. He surrendered four runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out three.

Game 2: Win 5-3

Coopersville Broncos Varsity snagged a late lead and defeated Sparta 5-3 on Friday. The game was tied at three with Coopersville Broncos Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Trevor Dietrich singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Sparta got things moving in the first inning, when #18 singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Coopersville Broncos Varsity evened things up at three in the bottom of the third inning.Coopersville Broncos Varsity scored one run when Ben Devries singled.

Coopersville Broncos Varsity put up three runs in the third inning. Coopersville Broncos Varsitybig bats were led by Noah Hershaft and Devries, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Josh Klein led the Coopersville Broncos Varsity to victory on the pitcher's mound. He lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and three runs while striking out two and walking zero.

#17 led things off on the hill for Sparta. He lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out five.

Hershaft led Coopersville Broncos Varsity with three hits in three at bats. Coopersville Broncos Varsity tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Hershaft led the way with two. Coopersville Broncos Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Tyler Schmidt had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
